Training
What type of training is provided at ESSACA?
ESSACA provides university training, anchored in profession in accordance with the UIA-UNESCO Charter oftraining of architects, following the three-cycle systemLMD (License-Master-Doctorate).
What is the duration of studies?
The total duration of studies to obtain the architect diploma is 5 years.
In what language are the courses taught?
In French mainly and in English.
Are lessons taught in English?
Yes for certain teaching units.
License Cycle
How long is the license cycle?
The License cycle is the first cycle of training in architecture. The duration of the cycle is 3 years with a maximum of 4 years.
What is the undergraduate education?
The master cycle allows you to acquire the basic knowledge required in the areas of artistic creation, science and technology and social science for the architect.
What courses are available?
Architecture is the only major at ESSACA.
Integration
How to integrate ESSACA into the first cycle?
Integration into the first cycle of ESSACA is carried out in one of the following ways:
− In preparatory class (preparing for the entrance exam into first year) upon registration
− In first year competitive examination
− During the cycle through completion of file study.
Can we join ESSACA during the cycle, on file study?
The file study is carried out when the candidate has started his cycle in another school of architecture and wishes to integrate ESSACA beyond the first year. The study of the file gives rise, depending on the places available for interviews which can also give rise to summary oral or written tests in function of assessments or an orientation towards first year entrance exam.
Preparatory Class
Is the ESSACA preparatory class essential?
The ESSACA preparatory class is not essential. It aims to properly prepare candidates for the competition entry to ESSACA.
What are the admission procedures for the preparatory class for ESSACA?
Admission to the ESSACA preparatory class takes place from one of the following ways:
− By orientation of candidates following the results of the first year entrance exam.
− By direct registration within the limit of places available.
How long is the preparatory class?
The duration of training in preparatory classes is 6 months.
Can we join the preparatory class in the course of the year?
There is the possibility of joining the preparatory class in progress of year within the limit of available places, please contact the administration for this purpose.
Admission
What are the admission procedures for first year?
Admission to the first year is by competitive examination.entry into first year. Two competition sessions are organised each academic year: the first in June, the second in September. Competition dates are published on our site, our social networks and in public media.
What is the level required to be present for the first year entrance exam?
Candidates for the first year entrance examination must hold a Baccalaureate or GCE Advanced Level.
Whether they are the Baccalaureate or GCE eligible for presentation of competition?
All series are eligible.
Are architectural studies accessible to holders of a literary or non-scientific baccalaureate?
Yes, we have graduate students with very good mentions having been admitted with a baccalaureate or a GCE no scientist.
What is the composition of the file presentation of the entrance exam first year?
− A cover letter including the address of the candidate as well as their telephone contact details and email
− A certified copy of the birth certificate
− A certified copy of the school identity card for candidates waiting for baccalaureate results or GCE
− A certified copy of the baccalaureate for holders
− Two identity photos
− A receipt for payment of competition fees 35,000 FCFA to BICEC (1) Non-refundable
− An individual information sheet duly completed (to be downloaded from the website www.essaca.architecture.org).
What are the terms of deposit of the first year entrance exam?
A first year entrance examination file is receivable digitally to the following email address: ecole@essaca-architecture.org however the files physical documents must be deposited with ESSACA no later than first day of the competition.
Are foreigners admitted to ESSACA?
Yes, foreigners are subject to the same admission conditions as nationals. Assistance in finding accommodation is provided by ESSACA to non-resident foreign students in Cameroon.

Are old competitive exams available to candidates?
We do not publish old competition papers entry to ESSACA.
How to prepare for the entrance exam first year?
The questions are multiple choice and require logic, a sense of observation and knowledge general. The candidate can practice logic tests, develop their interest in art and architecture and keep informed of current events.
Can we take the entrance exam in the first year online?
We have no control over availability and quality connections and we do not have the entire chain of resources necessary to manage the subcontracting of this service so we refrain from launching into online tests.
Diploma
What are the undergraduate degrees to ESSACA?
The first cycle of ESSACA is sanctioned by the License in architecture obtained by the presentation of a dissertation and a architectural project before an international jury.
Can we work with the license in architecture?
Yes it is possible to work within a firm of architecture or in support of architects within structures various but the license in architecture does not give the quality nor the title of architect and therefore to exercise the architectural profession.
Fees
How much are the tuition fees?
Preparatory class tuition fees amount to 650,000 XAF. Undergraduate tuition fees are 4,000,000 XAF.
What are the payment terms?
The tuition for the preparatory class is payable in full at the start of the academic year i.e. 650,000 XAF. Tuition fees are payable in two instalments:
− October: 2,000,000 XAF
− January: 2,000,000 XAF
Are there any possibilities for developing the tuition payments?
